This study was conducted in Iringa Municipal Council located in Iringa region. The
study was conducted in 10 health facilities and 20 streets of the municipal. The study
main objective was to know if comprehensive council health planning processes in
Iringa Municipal adhere to the CCHP planning guideline. Researcher intended to use
the sample of 210 respondent but researcher managed to get only 195 respondents
which is equivalent to 92.85% of the intended respondent. Researcher used random
sampling and Purposive sampling technique to select unity of study and to get
respondents.
The study has revealed that to a large extent Iringa municipal council has shown a
greater achievement in adherence to CCHP planning time table as per requirement of
the guideline. Apart from the achievement municipal has minimal weakness on timely
provision of feedback of the approved budget at all level.
Also finding revealed that Iringa municipal council involves all required stakeholders
stating to the health facilities to the Municipal level but there is less involvement of the
community. The Study went further in assessment of stakeholders’ knowledge on
CCHP preparation. Findings have revealed that, to a large extent member of the CCHP
planning team are more knowledgeable and they have sufficient information necessary
for CCHP preparation. But again there is high knowledge gap to the community level
prior to CCHP preparation.
Researcher also assed if stakeholders receive feedback after approval of the CCHP
were findings of this study have revealed that to a large extent there is weakness in
provision of feedback to various stakeholders on what have been approved and not
approved. Feedback at Municipal level are normally provided late mainly after
disbursement of funds
