Stock (inventory) discrepancy affects enormously on the overall performance of this organization the problem of stock discrepancies have been prevailing for sometime in this organization. As storage of stocks or materials is the most important, indeed this is mains aim of providing a warehouse to store stock and other goods depending on their eventual issuance to operating unit and other customers, however inefficiency warehouse operations result in stock discrepancies. This study has provided insight into the nature of discrepancies that occur is the organization storage system, the main objective of this research was being to assess the factors that contributing to stock discrepancies at the warehouse of BGM. The research laid down the literature review, both theoretical and empirical review that give more information on the objective of the study under this literature review it has been said by most authors that poor management of stock control in various warehouse leads to the occurrence of stock discrepancies as well as that it might lead to the increase of organization costs. The researcher, as well as to substantiate with what literature review match up with the experience collected both primary and secondary data, the researcher also employed, Questionnaires, Interviews, Observation and documentary reviews, the research a population of 35 personnel from the warehouse and inventory section of the BGM, The date obtained was analyzed using both qualitative and quantitative data analysis technique. Data analysis and discussion were based on the specific research questions framed on the procedures on receiving of goods adherence by the BGM, procedure and storage of stocks, ways on issuing of goods, stocktaking procedures and measures that were taken by BGM to reduce the problem, evidence found by the researcher at BGM shows that, wrong receipt, wrong binning, wrong issuing, error of counting, dual location, deterioration, an profession staff were some of the findings to the problem. Finally the researcher put recommendation to the management of BGM so as to address the problem, such a recommendations were as, employ the qualified personnel, surprise stocktaking, motivation to employers well established stock management regular bin locations application of FIFO, LIFO method, training of employees and other
