dc.description The study concerns with examining the effects of reward systems on employees’ productivity at HESLB. The study was guided by four specific objectives which were identifying the reward systems available at HESLB, examining the link between reward systems and employees’ job objectives, examining the effects of extrinsic reward systems on improving employees’ productivity and examining the effects of intrinsic reward systems on improving employees’ productivity. Case Study research design was adopted to conduct research findings at HESLB. Stratified sampling procedure and Simple Random Sampling Procedure were applied to select 52 respondents as a sample size. Primary data were collected through in-depth interview and questionnaire while the secondary data through documentary review. The collected data were analyzed qualitatively (content analysis) and quantitatively (statistical description). The revealed findings show that both extrinsic and intrinsic rewards affect employees’ productivity at HESLB. The studied extrinsic rewards which were salary, bonus, employees promotion, fringe benefits and training and development all were found to affect employees productivity through enhancing timely completion, encouraging one to meet the set job target and objectives, influencing employees to satisfy customers with quality services, encouraging attendance at workplace and influencing employees to attain organizational goals. While intrinsic rewards which were constructive feedback, employees’ autonomy, recognition of employees and challenging works were found to affect employees’ productivity through enhancing timely task completion, influencing to meets the set job targets and objectives, helping employees to satisfy customers with services quality, motivating employees to complete their challenging tasks, encouraging employees’ attendance and encourages employees to produces services with high quality The study recommended on management of HESLB to invest on both extrinsic and intrinsic reward so as to productivity of their employees. Also, the study recommended for future studies to use other forms of reward apart from those used by this study to examine their effects on employees’ productivity
