At the end of third year the finalists from various course offered by the University are required to submit a Report in partial fulfilment of their awards. Every finalist, as per interest but within the University priority areas has to go for data collection and finally submit a Research Report for the purpose mention here above. This is a Research report for the same purpose. It was done in one selected District namely; Amani District Council which is within Tanga region. The study intends to reveal the Problem facing Amani District Council which involves several cutting down of trees without replacing. Forest play a greater role in everyday life and without it there is no life on earth, forest is also an important component for socio-economic development of human being. Since the population is growing faster also the economic activities are increasing, this therefore increase the demand of people to take measures to protect environment. It is therefore advised that both rural and urban people require to work together to curb this situation if not there comes a time that the earth will be empty. My work is divided into five chapters.
First chapter is a general overview of the study (an introduction), the second chapter is conceptual framework on the protection of forest. The third chapter is legal and policy framework on protection of forest. The fourth chapter is research finding and analysis. The last chapter is conclusion and recommendation.
