A Compulsory Research Report Submitted to Mzumbe University – Mbeya Campus in Partial Fulfillment of the Requirements for an Award of the Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) Degree of the Mzumbe University
This research rooted from domestic violence against men in Tanzania, currently domestic violence against men is problem which faces the Tanzania jurisdiction, because there is no law or policies which protect men. Once men affected with that problem, they required to recall on criminal law in which provides general acts of violence, which does not take into account the special circumstances and gendered context of domestic violence against men. The study has general and specific objectives. The general objective was to investigate the protection on domestic violence against men in Mbeya City District. The specific objectives were to examine how men do experience domestic violence in the domestic relationship in the sense that are aware what acts constituting domestic violence and find out how do police gender desks officials involved in protecting men in the community from violence based on their gender.
The research used the two ways of data collection which are primary data collection, which are interview and questionnaires. Also, the researcher employed the secondary data and Collection Instruments as a source of obtain relevant information. At the same time the sample of 111 respondents out of 87totals of respondents participated.
On the part of the finding, respondents share same view with the researcher, the research prove that, there is no law or policies which explain domestic violence specifically and also no law or policies which protect men against domestic violence in Tanzania. Instead there many policies and strategies which protect women against domestic violence in Mbeya City District and Tanzania at large.
