The main purpose of this study was to assess the factors influencing the implementation of Tanzania National electronic Procurement System (TANePS) in public institutions: a case study of National Housing Corporation Head Quarters’ (HQ ) and the specific objectives were; to examine the influence of top management commitment on the implementation of TANePS, to examine the influence of information technology infrastructure on the implementation of TANePS, to examine the influence of staff training on the implementation of TANePS and to determine the influence of supplier capacity on the implementation of TANePS. A case study research design was employed as it placed more emphasis on full suitable analysis of conditions then a target population of 102 TANePS users in various departments under NHC HQ was used with a sample size of 81 respondents and data were mainly collected through questionnaires. The study generated both quantitative and qualitative data that were analyzed using descriptive statistics. After data analysis, the study revealed that top management commitment influenced to a great extent the implementation of TANePS, information technology infrastructures influenced to a great extent the implementation of TANePS, staff training influenced to a great extent the implementation of TANePS and supplier’s capacity influenced to a great extent the implementation of TANePS in National Housing Corporation Head Quarters’ (HQ). Therefore it is recommended that top management should continue showing full commitment on the implementation of TANePS, improvement in ICT infrastructures such as pending TANePS key features like E-Contract Management and E-Auction which were not yet in operations, increase in suppliers’ capacity on the implementation of TANePS to enable them participating in online tenders effectively and efficiently also increase in staff training to the employees or staff to make ease use of TANePS in public institutions
