This study aimed at assessing the factors influencing store operational performance in public sectors. To achieve that hypotheses were formulated based on the wide theoretical and empirical literature review executed. In this study conceptual framework (model) proposed the factors influencing store operational performance in public sectors in Tanzania. Those factors were three namely; staff competence, internal inventory control, and information technology when each one involves two sub-variables.
This study espoused primarily quantitative research methodology. The study was conducted at MNH Dar Es Salaam Region. A total of 107 respondents were involved in this study, and the researcher interviewed all of them. The data gathered from respondents were analyzed through software known as Statistic Package for Social Science (SPSS) version 20.
The findings of the study suggest that store training management, the experience of staff on stores, documentation, control of issues, ERP, and MRP these factors influencing store operational performance in public sectors. The findings revealed that all independent variable have the influence on store's operational performance when each sub variable was significantly to influence the store's operational performance.
The study recommended that MNH and other public sectors should ensure that there is efficiency service delivery and material handling for stores operations performance by employing workers who have competed in terms of professionalism and experience, but also it must be considered very much issues of documentation in terms of keeping and accuracy record as well as regards the issues of adopting and applying technology for all operations within stores such as ERP and MRP. |
