This study made analysis of the right to challenge in court presidential election results in Mainland Tanzania. The main objective of this study was to analyze the laws governing General Election in line with the right to challenge the presidential election results in Tanzania. In order to achieve the goals of the study, the study was guided by the assumption that the current election law seems not to provide the right to challenge presidential election results in Tanzania. It has been established in this study that in Tanzania the right to petition against presidential election results is not constitutionally provided. The constitution expressly bars the right to challenge the presidential election results in the court of law. Therefore, the hypothesis of this study has been proved affirmatively correct that the right to challenge presidential election results in Tanzania is legally not provided by the existing laws of Tanzania. It is recommended that the laws should be amended in order to provide the right to petition against the presidential election results |
