This research is on the law relating to protection of children in case of divorce in Tanzania. A case study of Njombe at Njombe. The purpose of this study is to demonstrate that divorce leads to problems on family lives that affect children mostly. The findings reveal the causes of divorce to cruelty, adultery, desertion and the lack of financial resources. This disturbs the couples to the extent of failing to take care of their children and eventual divorce. The impact of divorce on children leads to child labour, prostitution, street children and failure in education of most victims. The study is divided into five chapters. Chapter one is on the general introduction. Chapter two is on the concept of divorce, child and maintenance. Chapter three is on the law and how it protects the welfare of children after divorce. Chapter four is on research findings and data analysis and Chapter five is on the conclusion and recommendations
