The general objective of this study was to assess the role of accounting system as used by Marine services company Limited with three specific objectives. Firstly, was to determine the scope of application of the accounting system used by Marine services company limited, second objective was to determine the contribution of the accounting system application at Marine services company Limited, and third objective was to assessed Challenges facing the accounting system.
Research Methodology; The study population of this study was the accountant’s staffs and management staffs at Marine Services Company Limited, Total population was 32 and sample size were 30 respondents consist the Accountants staffs and Management staffs. Data were collected through primary data collection methods which involves interview, questionnaire and observation, data analyzed through Excel and presented through Tables.
Findings From the Study ; The general objective of the study was to assess the role of accounting system in business management at Marine Services Company Limited, the first specific objective was to determine the scope of application of c counting system at Marine Services Company Limited, Results from findings generally the application of accounting system is enough to provide reliable and accurate financial information which enable business management to determine the general performance of the business, this enable the management to make proper decision to ensure achievement of company goals.
Second specific objective was to examine the contribution of the accounting system at Marine Services Company Limited, from findings results show there was enough contribution of accounting system.
Third Specific Objective was to assess challenges like shortage of ICT staffs, Shortage of enough accounting packages, Network problem and in proper records of business transactions. Generally regardless of this few challenges, accounting system provide enough support to the performance of business at Marine Services Company Limited |
