The research is about the effectiveness of the law relating to right of object to enter into polygamous marriage. Despites of various international and domestic instruments that Tanzania has put forwards to provide for the protection of human rights, but the violation of the referred rights has been a challenge to most of Tanzanian citizen especially those who‟s their husband want to marry for another wife or wives. Under this study the researcher aimed at finding out whether such rights is strictly adhered to and is effectively are known to the society and they are followed strictly. In this research data was obtained in both primary and secondary modes, where in primary data was attained by way of interview and questionnaires, where by number of not less than 20 were examined including people who are experienced with polygamous type of marriage, lawyers and member of the marriage conciliation board. While the secondary data were attained by documentary review. The finding of research depict that the right for objection to enter into polygamous marriage were not applicable in the society. Responding to the finding of the research ,,,,. The researcher recommended that there should be effective enforcement of right to object polygamy marriage so as to protect women, and to ensure that justice is seem to be done. Also the government should at least provide education to the citizen because most are ignorant |
