dc.description Stress at work place is among the grates problem which affect the organizational performance to the extent that some employees do not accomplish the planned goals. The problem of stress may be revealed by low performance of workers, absenteeism of workers and even health problems to some of workers bad moods can also manifest workers stress. The major objective of this study is to assess the factors leading to employees stress a case study of TANESCO Mbeya Branch. The research attempted to answer the following question: first the kind of stressors which lead to employee stress, second the ways to overcome stress in the organization. The research study employed both qualitative and quantitative research methods. The sample size included 36 respondents who responded to interviews and questionnaires. The data were collected through structured questionnaires and interviews and secondary data were obtained through documentary review. Both qualitative and quantitative approaches were used to analyze the data collected. Findings of the study had revealed the following that stresses problems are just have not revealing the single way of expressing stress at work place and various ways are displaying such problem. The reveals that some stressed because of poor work design, role ambiguity, role conflict, poor working conditions, work overload, poor management are just identified kinds of stressors in the organization. And ways such as to avoid ambiguity at all costs, clarification of organization expectations, to ensure a proper work environment, displaying such problem to avoid unrealistic deadlines, early prevention and elimination of work related problems that can produce stress, to apply a proper management style, to give workers opportunities to participate in decisions that affect their jobs, to deal with work place conflict in a positively way, to consult your employees. Also a researcher faced challenge like poor response rate from respondent, financial problem.
