The purpose of this study was to assess the factors influencing employees’ retention in Tanzanians’ private organization at CRDB BANK Mbozi branch. The study was guided by specific objectives including, to determine the influence of reward and recognition toward staff retention, secondly, to examine the influence of individual background to employee retention, and thirdly to examine how job influence employees’ retention. The study used case study as research design. The study employed 14 employees from CRDB BANK Mbozi branch where by the same total number of 14 employees were taken as sample size for research respondents. The researcher employed convenience sampling technique due to the limited number of employees at the branch level. It was written basing on the findings obtained through questionnaires (closed and open-ended questionnaire) for primary data. The research findings were both analyzed quantitatively and qualitatively. The study found out that remuneration, reward and recognition, career development opportunities, job security, loyalty to the organization, and organization image are the push and pull factors affecting employees retention at CRDB bank, also the study revealed that individual background as non-organization factor affect employees retention, as well as job experiencing by employees in the organization due to the poor separation and distribution of activities make employees not to work comfortable in the organization that direct affect employees retention negatively. Also, the study present suggestions made by respondents whereby most of respondents suggested; ensuring good relationship between top management and subordinates, encouraging fairness between performance and reward, improvement of working tools, setting SMART goals all these to make employees remain loyal and committed in the organization. The study recommended that, the company should adopt and implement a win - win management style approach since this style is for mutual benefit as it allows employees to become part of the team, this allowing the management to make better decisions and reduces their chances of leaving the organization for its competitors by increasing the retention rate of its mostly high skilled employees. The management should use reward systems approaches such as payment packages, to motivate employees and retain them within their organization.
