dc.description This research assessed factors affecting vegetable supply chain performance in Tanzania at surveyed regions. The general aim of this study was to assess factors affecting vegetable supply chain performance. Specific objectives of the study were to assess effect vegetable supply chain structure, storage system and actors relationship on vegetable supply chain performance. Study was conducted at three different region which were Dar es salaam, Morogoro and Pwani. Simple random sample was used to select sample for providing quantitative data through questionnaire, snowball was used to select sample for providing qualitative and quantitative data collected through an interview. Theoretical discussion for designing conceptual framework of this study based on Resource based view (RBV) and Network Theory (NT). Quantitative data was analysed through descriptive statistic, correlation and regression analysis. In relation to first objective, findings indicated that there was positive relationship between vegetable supply chain structure and vegetable supply chain performance at significance level of less than 0.05. Results based on second objective showed that there was positive relationship between storage system and vegetable supply chain performance at levelsignificance level of less than 0.05. For third objective the results revealed that actors relationship has significant contribution to vegetable supply chain performance at significance level less than 0.05. Study revealed out that some of the traffic congestion, long vegetable vegetable supply chain structure, inflexibility of supply chain actors , poor level of trust, and poor storage condition at market area were among of the most affecting factors. Study concluded out that vegetable supply chain structure , storage system and actors relationship affect vegetable supply chain performance at significance level of 0.000 (p˂0.05). Government were by large extent advised to deal with structure of supply chain by formulating favourable policies. Also formulation of contractual relationship among vegetable supply chain actors was strongly recommended.
