The study purpose was to determine effectiveness of procurement process of capital
equipment in public organizations from the perspective of Supplier relation
management and its effect on organization performance. Specific research objectives
were; to determine the laid down procedures for procurement process of capital
equipments; to determine the competence of procurement staff involved in
Procurement process of capital equipments and to determine budget perspective on
procurement of capital equipments.
The study covered the TANESCO. It focused on the procurement process of capital
equipment on perspective of Supplier relation management and its effect on
organization performance
This was a case study design. A study was conducted at the TANESCO. A study
used both primary and secondary data. The target unity of study was employees of
the Tanzania Electric Supply Company Limited. The study was targeting a sample of
100 respondents in order to have better representation. Data collection methods and
tools were questionnaires, interview and documentation. The study used Microsoft
Excel software to analyze the collected data.
This study has evaluated Effectiveness of Procurement of Capital Equipment in
Public Organizations. However more research on how procurement of capital
equipments can be procured efficiently and effectively can be carried out in future as
the technology is changing, new things are being inverted and manufactured daily.
Indeed, training to employees on the issues related to procurement contract
management on capital equipment is also necessary.
