Entrepreneurship training has been cited as one of the most important element for small and medium enterprises operating export business. HRM training is among entrepreneurship training that is provided in Tanzania. Various studies on the influence of HRM training on firm performance have been conducted but none of them focused on export performance. Thus, this paper assesses the influence of HRM training on SMEs export performance in Tanzania. A sample of 60 SMEs owners/ managers based in Dar es Salaam was used in this study. Regression analysis and Analysis of variance were used to analyze data. On the basis of the findings the paper suggests that HRM training has a positive influence on SMEs export performance in Tanzania. It therefore, recommends to stakeholders in SME sector to build capacity of SMEs owners/managers their services by providing HRM training to them as a strategy to gain competitive advantage in order to improve export performance in the country.
