This dissertation reports on the influence of push and pull factors on the selection of tourism sites in Tanzania. Using the descriptive research design coupled with mixed research approach, data were collected from 89 respondents, i.e. 80 tourists and 9 national parks officials, using a questionnaire and interviews in three national parks located in Iringa Region, i.e. Kalenga, Ismila, and Ruaha national parks. In this study, the logistic regression model was used since the dependent variable; selection of tourism sites is a dummy variable. The results indicate that the push factors such as self–esteem, prestige, social interaction, age, interest and income = significantly influenced the selection of tourism sites. The pull factors revealed through this study are climate; historical sites, cultural events, facilities and service quality were significant variables that influenced the selection of tourism sites. The study, therefore, concluded that both push and pull factors are very important factors in increasing the level of tourists who visit the tourism sites. It is recommended that the improvement of income of the tourists, social interaction, historical sites and facilities such as accommodations and the infrastructures such as transportation facilities and communication facilities.
