In recent times there has been a great concern about the use of ICT and its opportunities in enhancing performance in the process of teaching in secondary schools in Tanzania. The objective of this study is to find out the extent to which teachers use ICT facilities in teaching and create e-teaching, the relationship of teachers' performance on use of ICT and students opinion on teachers' use of ICT that create good environment in teaching process in Tanzanian Secondary Schools, Serengeti district as a study. The findings show that, the rate of use of ICT facilities in classroom enhances performance of teaching. Teachers' knowledge is understood better when students are using ICT in learning. Students' performance is improved on the use of ICT facilities and create good environment in classroom teaching. Also the relationship of teachers' performance to the use of ICT in classroom teaching increases the efficiency of student performances.
The study is a descriptive one and has a sample of 104 respondents taken from five secondary schools. The methods used in data collection are interviews, questionnaires and documentary reviews. Excel and Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) were used to analyze data. The researcher's recommendations are based on provision of the solution that facing on various challenges which affects the development of information and communication technology as follows:- having a professional development, technical support on ICT, accessibility of infrastructure and ICT resources and government investment in technological characteristics. The findings of this study are expected to pave the way for the understanding of ICT tools and how it could be used to enhance performance in teaching process for the whole nation of Tanzanian.
