The banking sector is one of the most powerful financial management agencies which have a major role in the economic growth of Tanzania. Due to its necessity on the national economy every bank has the need to maintain good organizational culture for the employees as to avoid bank stress. Depending on the type of culture that is created in an organization, it can have a positive or negative effect on employee performance and job stress. Therefore, this study has intended to analyze the impact of organizational culture and job stress on employees’ performance in banking sector in Tanzania. A cross sectional research design was adopted and a sample size of 100 respondents was obtained. This study has used quantitative methods for data analysis. Statistical Package of Social Sciences (SPSS) version 21 was used to analyze the data
This study observed that, is a good organizational culture in commercial banks in Dodoma including organizational support, stability and communication, innovation orientation, performance orientation as well as emphasis on rewards. This study also found out that, there is job stress at the commercial banks in Dodoma. Furthermore, the study also found a positive relationship between job stress and organizational culture. The findings show that there is an exists of a positive correlation between organizational culture and job stress among banking employees in Tanzania. The results have an implication to the bank to make sure they set good organizational culture which does not keep job stress. This study recommend that, the organization should encourage senior managers to support their junior employees in order to achieve job satisfaction. The organization should focus on rewarding members of staff based on their contribution to the bank and merit. |
