Introduction: Africa to be precise SSA is facing non-resilient blood donation infrastructure
system which is superimposed with social-economic related challenges. Adding to those
curtailing factors, blood ordering can practices either lead into exacerbation or abetment of blood
insufficient in our banks.
Objective: To determine blood utilization indices and factors associated with appropriateness of
blood requisition among hospitals in Tanzania.
Methods: This will be a cross-sectional survey study, involving 42 transfusing facilities whereby
it will involve secondary data analysis of Blood Need Assessment survey which was designed to
describe the current clinical patterns of blood use, quantification of national blood demand and
estimation of national blood needs in Tanzania. Form this survey we shall determine blood
utilization indices and factors associated with appropriateness of blood requisition among
hospitals in Tanzania |
