The purpose of the study was to examine the influence of academic staff’s working environment
in delivering knowledge. The Saint Augustine University of TANZANIA was used as a case
study for the study. The study examined the extent to which the academic staff’s working
environment affects the delivering of education. Further, the study assessed the sources of
working environment that affects the delivering of education. The study was conducted at MAIN
CAMPUS of Saint Augustine University in Mwanza Tanzania. The sample of the study
included 400 respondents. The respondents were academic staff members and students .The
study used case study design. Data were collected through qualitative research approach. The
data collection techniques used in the study included interviews, observation and focus group
discussion. Findings revealed that academic staff has poor working environment due to the fact
that has shortage of teaching and learning materials and facilities, unattractive allowances and un
reliable electricity power. Based on these findings the study recommends that the working
environment of academic staff should be improved so that the academic staff can be able to
deliver quality education to students. |
