dc.description The study assessed the role of innovative leadership towards job satisfaction among public secondary schools in Tanzania, A case of Kongwa District council. The study was guided by three specific objectives and subsequent research questions. Review of related theoretical, and empirical literature, was thoroughly done to inform this undertaking in terms of contents and methods. A case study design within mixed research approach was used. Simple random and purposive sampling procedures were used to select informants for the study. The total of eighty-four (84) participants was selected from the population for inclusion in the study. Data were collected through questionnaires, interviews, documentary reviews and observation. Qualitative data analysis was done through content analysis, while quantitative data analysis was done through descriptive statistics using SPSS (version 20).The study findings; there are mixed features of leadership ranging from the non-transactional features to the modern one (transformational) leadership. Innovative leadership features are numerous in the studied public secondary schools in Kongwa DC. The innovative leadership plays important roles in shaping and helping teachers improve their job performance as professionals. The study recommends that the educational leadership to embrace the innovative leadership as it has proved to have the power to make teaching efficient and effective. The study results have also pointed out implications around policies, leadership, work experiences, motivation and attitudes towards teaching career. To conclude on job satisfaction among teachers can be addressed using the correct leadership strategies. There is a need to recognize the contribution of each particular employee in the organization and that will serve as a motivating factor to make them remain and work hence increase organizational productivity.
