dc.description The study aimed at investigating effectiveness of use of few available resources in primary schools in Tanzania. It intended to make the teachers, students, and other stakeholders in education use few available educational resources effectively for better academic performance of the students and schools in general. The study explored the factors that led to some schools with few available educational resources to perform better in standard 7 national examinations while others performed poor in the similar educational resources situation. Focus group discussion, questionnaire, interviews, observation and reading various documents were used to collect data. Teachers, parents, students, educational officers and school inspectors were involved in the study so as to enrich knowledge and skills on effectiveness of use of few available educational resources for better academic performance of the students. Findings revealed that, few available educational resources can be used effectively to enhance better academic performance of the students and schools in general. Moreover, the study revealed that, suitable and strong relation among the education stakeholders, better economic base of school community members, creativity and innovation of school community members, academic level of school community members, work spirit and efforts act as engine in making few available educational resources to be used effectively for better academic performance in primary schools in Tanzania. The study has given various recommendations so as to empower the schools with few available educational resources to use resources effectively for better academic performance of the students.
