Although the ravages of IDS are currently felt by nations, communities and individuals, women bear more burden than men. This paper intends to demonstrate this fact by looking at the economic and social burden women have to carry in situations where AIDS has afflicted. Such analysis and review may help in: (1) Understanding some practices which spread the disease (2) Understanding the consequences of the disease in the society.
